Carry The Water asks one question: What makes you successful?
Whether the “you” is a Director of Marketing at a SaaS Company, serial entrepreneur, or a sales rep for Yellow Pages success is what we all are presumably striving for now.
So what’s the problem? Well, in today’s society instant gratification is not suggested - it is demanded. With our entire world at our fingertips one swipe away we tend not to want to wait. However, there is one thing that cannot be swiped in front of us immediately.... career success and fulfillment.
Carry The Water is an expression that we first came across through an episode of Seeking Wisdom (a podcast by Drift’s David Cancel and Dave Gerhardt). It alludes to this patient process and path one must take to get better at their craft. When you first start to “carry the water” you are going to slip and fall, but eventually you will complete the path smoothly.
Here’s the tricky part... every path is a little different. Some are shorter, some longer, some more uphill than others. Even the water could taste different. Some might add sugar and others splash sweetener in there - which makes navigating your path that much more difficult.
Carry The Water The Podcast sits down with individuals from very different backgrounds to see what steps they took on their paths, and hopes to find those one or two steps every successful person takes along the way. Do they all make a turn at this one specific point? Do they all hold the basket with their left hand in a certain way?
That remains to be seen.
